FARMINGTON, Maine – The Thomas College men’s soccer team edged out a 1-0 shutout victory over the University of Maine at Farmington in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Leib Field.
The Terriers extend their unbeaten streak to four games at 5-3-1 (3-0-1 NAC) while the Beavers drop below the .500 mark at 4-5 (1-2 NAC).
The Terriers scored the lone goal of the match in the 26th minute of the first half as MacQuille Walker (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) tallied his third goal on the season on a feed from Josh Emard (Lebanon, Maine).
Thomas outshot the Beavers 5-3 in the first half while UMF did the opposite in the second, finishing at an even 8-8. Both teams also had two corner kick opportunities in the contest.
Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H.) and John Villanueva (Gray, Maine) each recorded a save in goal for the Terriers in the win while Matt Wilson shouldered the loss for the Beavers with six saves.
