LYNDON, Vermont – The Thomas College women’s basketball fell to Lyndon State College, 81-54, in their second game of back-to-back North Atlantic Conference (NAC) games on Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers have now dropped six straight matchups, falling to 8-13 (5-9 NAC) while the Hornets improve to 13-8 (9-5 NAC).

The Hornets jumped out to a 19-7 lead throughout the first frame as the Terriers converted 3-for-21 from the floor.  Thomas chipped away at their deficit in the second as they pulled within eight points at the break.  Four Terrier starters each scored four points to cut down the lead.

Lyndon extended their lead to ten in the third quarter on six points from Mikayla Hodge.  Amira Jones (Chicopee, Mass.) added seven for the Terriers to keep pace going into the fourth.  Shooting struggles plagued Thomas in the final frame as Hodge added another eight points to finish the game at 81-54.

Hodge led the Hornets with 16 points and 16 rebounds in the win while Victoria Carlson added 15 points and five boards.  Alissa Mitchell and Alexis Britch each netted 12 points.

Jones held a team-high 13 points for the Terriers while Sammie Griffin (Union, Maine) chipped in with 12 points.  Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, Maine) contributed with nine points and five rebounds off the bench.

Thomas will look to get back in the win column on Friday, February 9 as they host Castleton at 5:30 p.m.
