BANGOR, Maine– The Husson University Softball Team (12-11, 2-2 NAC) split a doubleheader with Thomas (14-13, 4-2 NAC) by the final scores of 4-3 and 2-6 in NAC Conference Action at O’Keefe Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Game 2: Thomas 6, Husson 2

How it Happened:

The Terriers started off the scoring in the 1st inning as Coulter tallied an RBI-single to give Thomas a 1-0 lead. The Eagles got out of a jam as the Terriers had the bases loaded with no outs. Kendra Wilson (Salem, N.H.) had an unassisted double play in the inning to limit the damage.

The Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Aunchman hit an RBI-double to tie the game at one.

Thomas College responded in the top of the 3rd as LeBourveau hit a 2-run home run off the scoreboard to give the Terriers a 3-1 lead.

The Terriers added another run in the top of the 5th inning as Katlyn Coulter hit an RBI-single through the left side.

Thomas College added two more runs in the 6th inning as Anna Piirainen (West Paris, Maine) record an RBI-single followed up by LeBourveau with a RBI on a fielder’s choice to score Taylor.

Husson got a run back in the 7th inning as Kylie Cunningham (Bangor, Maine) manufactured an RBI-single, but the Terriers would win 6-2.

Batters: Husson

Bri Brochu (Pittston, Maine) with two hits.

Smith with two hits and two runs scored.

Aunchman with a hit and an RBI.

Pitchers: Husson

Aunchman (L, 1-1) pitched four innings, allowed three runs on eight hits, and struck out one.

Smith pitched three innings, allowed three runs on four hits, struck out one, and walked two.

Batters: Thomas (Maine)

Piirainen with four hits, two runs scored, and a RBI.

LeBourveau with three RBI, two hits, and a run scored.

Coulter with two RBI and two runs scored.

Pitchers: Thomas (Maine)

Coulter (W, 9-2) pitched seven innings, allowed two runs on six hits, and struck out one.

Husson Softball will continue their homestand on Saturday as they take on Castleton in a doubleheader starting at 1 PM at O’Keefe Field.
