WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College baseball team battled to a 2-2 tie with Colby College after the game was called off due to darkness following the eleventh inning at H. Allen Ryan Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The Mules pushed across a run in the top of the third to take a 1-0 lead. Tyler Mulberry reached on a fielder’s choice, allowing Matt Garcia to score.

Colby added an insurance marker in the top half of the sixth as Matt Treveloni took off second base on a steal. The throw down to second allowed Ben Coleman to score safely for third as he slid in for a 2-0 advantage.

In the bottom of the frame, the Terriers rallied back to score two runs, notching the game up at 2-2. Riley Simonetti (Minneapolis, Minn.) got the Terriers on the board first as he scored on a wild pitch. Grant Corbett (Manchester, N.H) reached on an error by the shortstop that allowed Antonio Martinez (Coral Springs, Fla.) to score.

Both bullpens held strong the rest of the way, not allowing a run to score until the game was called off after the eleventh inning.
