UMaine-Fort Kent Women's college soccer 11 vs SUNY-Delhi 1

Virginia Beach, Virginia — The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s soccer team defeated SUNY-Delhi on Friday afternoon by a score of 11-1, and as a result clinched a spot in the USCAA National tournament semi-finals.

The Bengals scored four goals in the first 19 minutes to power them through. The Ghana connection combined for all four of those goals, as USCAA Player of the Year, Sherifatu Sumaila scored two and teammate and countrywoman, Jennifer Cudjoe also scored two in the opening frame.

Sumaila added two more in the second half and also chipped in with two assists as well. Cudjoe completed her hat trick in the 49th minute. Emma Ashby, Logan Bubar, Tina Mendoza and Heidi Feichter all added goals for UMFK.

UMFK outshot SUNY-Delhi 36-4. Valentina Green got her first playoff victory for the Bengals.
