At Hermon, the Hawks stopped the Minutemen’s attempt at a two-point conversion rush with 40 seconds left in the game to record the victory.
Hermon scored on the opening drive with a 1-yard run from David Shepardson.
Stearns’ Jordan Morrow scored on a 10-yard run to end the first quarter with a score of 6-6.
Morrow scored on a 1-yard run and caught the 2-point conversion pass to put Sterns ahead 14-6 at the half.
Hermon tied the game at 14 in the third quarter on a 4-yard TD run by Shepardson and a 2-point conversion run by Cody Reynolds.
Shepardson scored twice in the fourth quarter on 14- and 2-yard runs. Tyler Beaton kicked the extra point for Hermon.
Morrow scored his third touch down with a 14-yard pass reception. Stearns’ second score of the quarter came when Mark Morneault caught a TD-pass with 40 seconds remaining in the game. The 2- point conversion was unsuccessful and Hermon went on the win the game 27-26.
