HOW IT HAPPENED:

Saint Joseph’s sophomore forward Libby Pomerleau (Saco, Maine) kicked off the game scoring in the 15th minute when she potted her team-leading sixth goal of the season. The Monks doubled their lead at the 27-minute mark when senior Hayley Winslow (Falmouth, Maine) scored off a penalty corner play. Springfield got on the board on a corner play just 2:13 into the second half, as senior Maggie Kennedy (Clay, N.Y.) slammed home a rebound amidst chaos in front of the net. Senior Dani Sweet (Charlton, Mass.) assisted on the score.

THE KEEPERS:

SJC junior Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) picked up the win after making three saves on the afternoon while Springfield junior Emmalie Drake (Pittsford, N.Y.) stopped four of the Monks’ six attempts in a losing bid.
