At Washburn, Mackenzie Worcester scored three goals and set the school’s girls career record for goals in leading No. 1 Washburn by No. 8 Schenck of East Millinocket in the Eastern Maine Class D quarterfinal.
Morgan Berube was the previous record holder with 55 goals, but Worcester scored three to hit 57 for her career and 30 for the season.
Kennedy Churchill put Washburn on the board 13 minutes into the game.
Carmen Bragg also scored and had an assist. Worcester had the hat trick and an assist. Mikayla Churchill and Laina Mette each had an assist. Washburn’s goalkeeper Rayah Saucier had 8 saves on 7 shots. Schenck’s goal keeper Taylor McLaughlin had 5 saves on 21 shots.
Washburn, now 13-1-1, will host No. 4 Fort Fairfield in a Friday semifinal. Schenck finishes at 10-6.
