|Post 51||Motor City|
At Orono, a six-run fifth inning was the catalyst as Motor City overcame an early deficit to defeat Post 51 Saturday morning.
After falling behind 7-0 through four innings, Motor City of the Bangor area got key singles from Parker Walker, Jacob Ketch, and Austin Sheehan before Billy Phillips blasted a bases-clearing double just shy of the right-field fence to spark the fifth-inning rally.
Motor City added two runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 9-8 lead into the ninth where Cameron Graham got out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam to record the save.
Walker led the Motor City attack with three hits and two runs scored. Sheehan, Ketch, Nate Desisto, and Dennis Farnham each collected two hits.
For Post 51 of Oakland, Connor Garland notched three hits and scored twice and James Cunningham singled four times.
