Penobscot Valley Baseball 8 at Piscataquis 9

At Guilford, the PCHS Pirates won the offensive battle in the bottom of the seventh when Sam Thomas scored the winning run after a pickoff throw deflected off his back as he dove back in to third.

Tristan French racked up four RBIs on two hits for the PCHS Pirates. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Cody White recorded the win for the PCHS Pirates. He pitched one hitless shutout inning.

The top of the first saw Penobscot Valley take an early lead, 4-0. Penobscot Valley’s threat began with a single by Thomas Spencer. A groundout by Jarrett Priest then moved Thomas Spencer from first to second. Penobscot Valley pushed more runs across on an error and a two-run single by Dakota Batchelder.

The Pirates matched their one-run fifth inning with one more in the seventh. In the fifth, the Pirates scored on an RBI single by Jeremy Bell..

The  Pirates scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI single by French and a three-run double by Cody White.

Parker McLaughlin had two hits for PVHS, Alex Thompson had a hit and two RBI and Batchelder had a a hit and two RBI.

Tristan French had two hits and four RBI for PCHS, Cody White had a double and three RBI, Jeremy Bell had a hit and RBI and Cam Pratt had a single and double.
