Hermon H.S. Boys Basketball 70 vs Orono H.S. 65

At Hermon, sophomore Garrett Trask led a balanced attack with 20 points as the Hawks downed Orono.

Keenan Marseille added 17 points and a strong floor game for 2-0 Hermon, while freshman Isaac Varney scored 14 points, Cody Hawes had 10 and Jordan Bishop contributed nine points.

Senior guard Nate DeSisto paced 1-1 Orono with a game-high 25 points. Connor Robertson scored 11 points for the Red Riots while Jackson Coutts added 10.

Hermon made six of its eight 3-pointers for the game in the first half to build a 38-33 halftime lead. The Hawks extended that advantage to as much as 56-42 late in the third quarter, but Orono rallied within 59-55 with just under three minutes left in the game before Varney and Trask each made two free throws and Trask followed two Coutts free throws with his fourth 3-pointer of the night to give Hermon a 66-57 cushion,
