At Caribou, Kendra Hayward allowed only three hits while striking out 11 and not walking a batter to give the No. 5 Coyotes the win over the No. 4 Vikings.

The Coyotes scored the game’s only run in the top of the fifth when Ashley Abbott led off with a single and was pinch ran for by Michaela Milton. Milton then stole second, and also stole third, scoring on the overthrow by the catcher.

Abbott also doubled for the 14-4 winners while Megan Cousins and Rachel Martin each singled.

Emily Staples also turned in a fine pitching effort for 15-3 Caribou as she scattered four hits, struck out 12 and didn’t walk a batter.

Anesha Hersey, Jamie Martin and Jordyn Doucette each added a single for the Vikes.
