Nokomis Softball 14 at Hermon 1

At Hermon, the sixth-seeded Warriors scored five runs in the top of the third inning en route to the upset over the No. 2 Hawks.

Nokomis pitcher Sara Packard shut down the Hawks as she didn’t allow a hit after giving up three in the first inning. She notched six strikeouts without walking a batter.

Sierra Fortin sparked the 14-5 winners with four singles and Taylor Lovely added three. Megan Perry and Drew Graves each chipped in with a double and single.

Hermon finished at 16-2.
