Mount View Football 39 at Stearns 14

At Millinocket, junior halfback Stephen Davis rushed for 368 yards and five touchdowns on 27 carries to lead the Mustangs to a season-opening victory over the Minutemen.

Davis scored on runs of 66, 69 and 43 yards while amassing 304 yards in the first half as Mount View built a 26-6 lead at intermission. He added a pair of 6-yard scoring plunges in the third quarter. Sophomore Jack Axsom added 66 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

Junior Mitchell Bradford scored on an 80-yard kick return and amassed more than 100 all-purpose yards to lead Stearns. Sophomore Colby Waceken scored on a 3-yard touchdown run while junior Marc Morneault led the Minutemen ground game with 105 rushing yards on 14 carries.
