At Thorndike, Brandon Soper’s double to left-center field with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning drove home Micah Williamson to give Medomak Valley of Waldoboro an 8-7 Class B baseball victory over Mount View on Wednesday afternoon.
Medomak Valley, winning its second game in two days, is 4-3-1 on the season, while Mount View fell to 3-6.
Williamson flared a one-out single off Mount View reliever Craig Nealley in the bottom of the seventh — Medomak Valley was the home team but the game was played at Mount View because of field and weather considerations at Waldoboro — before Soper followed by rifling a first-pitch fastball into the gap in left-center that allowed Williamson to score easily from first base.
Isaac Greenrose, the third Medomak Valley pitcher of the day, earned the win by retiring Mount View in order in the top of the seventh.
Greenrose also paced the Panthers’ 13-hit attack with two doubles, while Soper doubled and singled and Adam Lynch, Kerry Marden and Williamson each singled twice.
Tyler McCormick and Kyle Turner each doubled and singled for Mount View, while Aaron Elkins singled twice and Adam Higgins doubled and had three RBIs.
