Mount Desert Island 5 at Foxcroft 3

At Dover-Foxcroft, Jon Phelps struck out eight batters and limited the Ponies to seven hits, three walks, and two earned runs in a complete-game effort to lead unbeaten MDI to victory in game two of a doubleheader.

Tom Paolen paced the Trojans’ offensive attack with three hits and four RBIs while Steven Hanscome (2 for 4), Dylan Collins (three runs), and Phelps (single, two walks, stolen base, run scored) were key contributors at the plate.

Foxcroft Academy’s Tanner Strout yielded five hits, five walks, and two earned runs over four innings of work and Hunter Law limited the Trojans to two hits and one run over the final three innings.

Brooks Law doubled, walked twice, stole a base, and scored two runs for the Ponies, who fell to 1-2 . Talon Strout and Abe Simpson each had a run-scoring single.
