At Brewer, Sam Pellegrino roped a two-run single with one out in the fifth inning to snap a 1-1 tie and lead the undefeated Witches to their 15th win.

Messalonskee of Oakland fell to 11-4.

Morgan Small led off the inning with a double and Emily Gilmore reached on a bloop infield single. Each player advanced on a passed ball before scoring on Pellegrino’s single.

Lindsay Houp scored the only other run in the bottom of the 3rd as she reached on an error, moved to second on Small’s single,to third on a passed ball and scored on a throwing error.

Winning pitcher Alex Grindle pitched out of bases-loaded, one-out jams in the fourth and fifth innings before Chelsea King was summoned in the sixth after Grindle allowed a one-0ut walk and a single to Natalie Hunt.

Dakota Bragg singled off King’s glove and Phoebe Pelletier was hit by a pitch to force in a run and make it 3-2.

But Delaney Davis fielded a sharp grounder and forced the runner at the plate and a pop-up ended the threat.

King allowed one hit and struck out the side in the seventh for her seventh save.
