PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy women’s soccer sailed to an 8-0 win over Maine-Presque Isle in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Emily Wyman (Brockton, Mass.) put the Mariners on the board in the seventh minute with her first goal of the season. Less than four minutes later, Allison Boulier (Bangor, Maine) added her first-career goal with the Mariners on a pass from Briana Obshatkin (Dedham, Mass.).
In the 17th minute, Morgan Libby (Brunswick, Maine) found the back of the next for her second goal of the season on an assist from Makayla Lewis (Purcellville, Va.). Freshman Caitlin Paradis (Ashland, Maine) connected with Lewis in the 21st minute to give the Mariners a 4-0 lead.
The Mariners continued the scoring in the 24th minute when Kelsea Anair (Richmond, Maine) found the back of the net on a pass from Lewis, for her second goal of the year.
Lewis added her second goal of the game at 32:02 on an assist from Miranda McIntire (Alna, Maine) to make it 6-0. Autumn Acord (Richmond, Maine) capped off the scoring with back-to-back goals in the 37th and 38th minute on assists from Paradis and Wyman.
Maggie McConkey (Fryeburg, Maine) earned the win in net for the Mariners, stopping the lone shot she faced in just under 64 minutes of play, while Alice Van Kovn (Lancaster, Calif.) went untested in net for the remaining 26:11 of play.
Maine Maritime outshot Maine-Presque Isle 24-3 on the afternoon.
The Mariners improve to 2-1-1 on the season
