BANGOR, Maine – Husson University men’s soccer picked up their fourth straight victory over Maine Maritime Academy 2-1, on Saturday night in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at John P. Boucher Field.
Husson (5-5-2, 4-1-1 NAC) scored two goals late in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission. Saker Ghanayem put the Eagles on the board at 39:32 and Miguel Caballero found the back of the net just over a minute later.
Maine Maritime (4-6-1, 3-2 NAC) cut the gap to one when Ike Doiron picked up his fourth goal of the season in the 64th minute on a pass from Dalton Moore. The Mariner offense applied heavy pressure to Husson’s Cody Gross late in the second half, but could not come up with the equalizer.
Joshua Reeks and Marshall Spear combined for four saves for the Mariners, splitting the time in net. Gross ended the evening with four stops.
With the win the Eagles improve to 42-16-6 in the all-time series.
