Maine Central Institute Softball 3 at Belfast Area 7

At Belfast, the Lions scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie en route to defeating Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Belfast was led by Casey Thayer with a double, two singles, two runs scored and an RBI. Madison Cummings added two hits and two RBIs for the Lions, while Killyan Richards had a hit and two RBIs, Dakota Black had two hits and an RBI, Alexis Porter had two hits and Breann Cummings also contributed a hit.

Richards picked up the win pitching win by striking out seven batters, walking two and allowing four hits in seven innings.

MCI’s Kat Smedberg doubled twice with two RBIs while Katie George doubled and walked and Courtney Fowler also had a hit.

Fowler pitched seven innings for the Huskies, yielding 11 hits with no walks and two strikeouts.
