LOWELL, Mass. – With Maine’s America East Conference opener tied at 2-2 in overtime, freshman Hana Davis took possession from a River Hawk defender in the offensive zone and deposited a shot in the back of the net to seal a comeback victory over UMass Lowell on Sunday afternoon at Wicked Blue Field.
Maine improves to 7-3 on the season after winning the conference opener, while UMass Lowell falls to 6-6 and are currently 1-1 in the America East after upending No. 18 UAlbany on Friday afternoon.
UMass Lowell held a 2-0 advantage at halftime, but Brianna Rickernotched two second-half goals to tie the contest. Davis tallied the game-winner in the 80th minute of the overtime period to complete the comeback over the River Hawks
The Black Bears held an advantage in the shot column 14-10 (6-4 SOG), while UMass Lowell led in penalty corners (7-5) and saves (3-2).
