Madawaska Girls Soccer 1 at Houlton 2

At Houlton, Emily Mooers scored the first two goals of the game to propel the Shiretowners to the win in their opener.
The first goal came with 19:13 left in the first half and the second was scored with 32:57 left. Kolleen Bouchard chipped in with an assist on the first goal.
Desirae Belanger of Madawaska scored with 1:27 remaining in the game, but Houlton was able to hold on for the win.
For Houlton, Katie Condon made 3 saves on 6 Madawaska shots. Owls’ goalkeeper, Alexis Levesque, made 6 saves on 10 Houlton shots.
Madawaska is now 2-1.
