At Watson Arena in Brunswick, Tyler Lacascio scored with 25.7 seconds to go in overtime as the Eagles came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills.
Tyler Halls scored his 13th goal of the season with 40 seconds left in regulation on a 6-on-4 power play and the Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse goalie pulled to force the extra frame. Freshman Noah Austin picked up three assists on the final three goals to lead the Eagles (6-4-0), along with cousin and sophomore linemate Nick Austin, who scored two goals. Also picking up assists were Austin Fournier and Cam Grant.
The Ice Cats were led by Huxley Lovering with a goal and an assist. Nick Lepage and Kaleb Currier each added a goal.
Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse finished 1 for 3 on the power play, while the Ice Cats went 1 for 4.
Eagles’ goaltender Cade Charron shut down the Ice Cats in the third period and overtime, finishing with 17 saves to get the win.
Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills (3-8-1) netminder Trent Spaulding made 47 saves on 51 shots.
