John Bapst Football 14 at Mattanawcook 30

At Lincoln Friday night, Mattanawcook Academy improved to 4-0 behind 278 yards rushing and 119 yards passing while holding John Bapst to 121 total yards.

John Bapst falls to 1-3 on the season.

MA got on the board on its second possession when Scott Jipson punched it in from 5 yards out. Holden Kimball converted the 2-point conversion.

A Mattanawcook fumble led to John Bapst scoring on a 22-yard TD pass from Spencer Barron to Austin Cyr making it 8-7 after the point after.

Another Mattanawcook fumble led to Baron’s 1-yard TD plunge early in the third to make it 14-8 Bapst.

MA scored on its next possession. Scott Jipson ran it in from 9 yards out and A.J. McEachern converted the 2-point conversion making it 16-14.

Trysten Pelkey scored on a 19-yard run on the next possession to make it 22-14. MA finished the scoring when Pelkey hit MaCEachern on a 22 yard pass and Pelkey to Jipson followed on the 2-point conversion made it 30-14.

Baron finished with 32 yards rushing and 69 passing to lead the Crusaders, now 1-3.

Jipson led MA rushers with 157 yards on 22 carries. Pelkey ran for 76 yards and passed for 119 . MacEachern led five receivers with two receptions for 49 yards.
