At Dover-Foxcroft, Justin Diamond scored two goals and Antonio Ayala had four assists as the Ponies opened their season with a victory over John Bapst of Bangor.
Diamond scored twice after a goal by Ethan Kelly just three minutes into the match to stake Foxcroft to a 3-0 lead after just 11 minutes of play, and teammate Sam Keane added a goal to give the Ponies a 4-1 halfttime advantage.
Nick Boyd had a goal and an assist in the second half for Foxcroft, while Berk Taner scored on a header and Blake Arno capped off the Ponies’ offensive outburst by scoring from amid a scramble in front of the John Bapst goal.
Foxcroft Academy goalkeepers Logan Butera and Tanner Strout combined to make five saves on seven shots.
Bach Nguyen, Josh Burleigh and Jacob Neese combined to make 12 saves on 19 shots in goal for 0-1 John Bapst. Scoring for the Crusaders were Angus Ferguson and Nate Reese.
