At Caribou High School on Saturday, Caribou’s Kameron Manter scored twice and Michael Hunter had a goal and assisted on Manter’s second tally to lead the Vikings by the Crusaders.

Caribou’s Colby Holdsworth scored off a beautiful assist from Matt Milliard early in the second half and center back Breen Blackstone found the back of the net on a 35-yard direct kick to account for the Viking’s five goals. Mitchell Gaetani got the Crusaders on the board with a goal off a feed from Angus Ferguson.

Manter’s first tally came off a direct kick just outside the 18 as he curled the ball into the far side of the net. Later, Hunter took a ball 18 yards out from a Dominick Judd cross, beating the keeper with just 15 seconds remaining in the half.

That goal seemed to boost the Vikings as they came out and scored three goals within the first 10 minutes of the second half to break the game open. Bapst broke through with Gaetani’s goal with 12 minutes remaining.

Matt Manter and Ethan Plourde combined to make 9 saves on 11 shots for Caribou which improves to 6-5-1. Bach Nguyen and Josh Burleigh made 8 stops on 24 shots for 2-8-1 John Bapst.
