BANGOR, Maine– The Husson University Baseball Team (7-11, 3-3 NAC) swept a doubleheader against the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers (5-10, 2-4 NAC), 2-1 and 6-3, in NAC action on Tuesday afternoon at the Dr. John W. Winkin Sports Complex.
Game 2: Husson 6, UMaine-Farmington 3 (9 Innings)
How it Happened:
Beavers started the scoring in the first inning when Riley Chickering lined an RBI-single as UMF took a 1-0 lead.
Nate Pushard doubled the lead for the Beavers in the sixth inning as he flied out to right field to score Chickering and make it 2-0.
Husson took the lead in the top half of the 7th inning starting with Stefen Strachan (Nassau, Bahamas) scoring on a wild pitch. Chapman tied the game with an RBI-single. Luke Covey (Milton, Vt.) gave the Eagles the lead with a sacrifice fly to score Wong.
Beavers tied the game in the seventh as Parks hit an RBI-single to score Tyler Flayhan (Sanford, Maine).
Eagles regained the lead in the ninth as Covey started it off with a RBI-single. Covey then went on to steal second and distract the pitcher as Huston scored to make it 5-3 Husson. Ryan Hoogterp (Old Town, Maine) finished off the scoring as he hit an RBI-single to left field.
