Houlton Softball 12 at Caribou 13

At Caribou, Rachel Soucy hit an inside-the-park two-run homer to propel Caribou to its first win of the young season.

Houlton jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead in the first inning, but Caribou responded with a six-run second.

Caribou was able to outscore Houlton 5 -1 in the last two innings to rally for the walk-off win

Leading the way for Caribou was Maddie Doucette with three hits and three runs. Rachel Soucy had a double to go with the home run, and teammates Megan Thornton, Morgan Outing, and Adrianna Bither all collected two hits as well.

Houlton was led offensively by Shanna Porter and Elizabeth Ward. Porter had a double and single, while Ward had a double in the sixth inning and scored her team’s only run after the fourth inning.
