At Corinth, scoring six runs in the first inning propelled the Hermon High School softball team to a 16-1 victory over Central on Saturday afternoon.
The game was halted after five innings by the 12-run rule.
Alessa Oakes banged out a solo home run to lead off the fourth inning plus an RBI double and an RBI single to pace the Hawks’ offense.
Shannon Graves added three singles for Class B Hermon (6-1), Kristen Wilcox slammed a three-run homer, and Shaniah Haskell, Syd Addessi and Katie Kivler had a pair of singles each.
Karli Theberge tossed a four-hitter, striking out four and walking no one, to pick up the win.
Cheyenne Edgerly posted two singles for the Class C Red Devils (3-5) and knocked in their run in the second inning.
Starter Becca Kelley and reliever Konnar Kirlin shared circle duties for Central. Kelley struck out four and walked four and Kirlin walked two.
