At Caribou, the fifth-ranked Vikings took advantage of foul trouble to No. 12 Hermon, hitting 6 of 10 free throws to pull out the victory.
Hermon jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, and led 19-13 at the half. Caribou took its first lead with just under two minutes remaining in the third quarter, but the Hawks closed out the quarter with a 6-0 run to retake the lead 28-26 at the end of three.
In the fourth quarter, Hermon led by seven, but the Vikings outscored the Hawks 9-2 over the final three minutes to force overtime.
Caribou (14-5) had a balanced attack, led by Cody Herbert with 12, Dayne Savage and Matt Milliard with 11, and Derek Richardson with nine. Hermon (8-11) was led by Tyler Thayer’s game-high 20 points, with Jacob Rioux scoring 11.
