At South China, Travis St. Pierre raced home from second in the bottom of the eighth to give No. 4 Messalonskee the victory over No. 8 Hampden.
St. Pierre hit a two-out double and scored from second when Devin Warren struck out at a pitch in the dirt, but reached base on a wide throw to first, allowing St.Piere to score.
The Eagles, now 13-5, scored a run in the second on a passed ball and added another in the fourth on Warren’s run-scoring single.
Hampden, which finished at 9-9, scored its first run in the second on an RBI single by Cam Libbey. The Broncos tied the game in the seventh when Libbey hit a lead-off single, was sacrificed to second, and later scored on Matt Palmer’s fielder’s choice grounder.
