At Buckfield, Tyler Vallee’’s two-run, two-out single in the bottom of the seventh rallied Buckfield by Greenville 3-2 in the first game of a doubleheader.
Vallee then earned the pitching win in the second game, striking out 10, before Owen Bennett came on to earn a save in the 6-3 win.
Buckfield is now 6-4 and Greenville is 5-4.
Greenville’s Howie Stone was the tough-luck loser in the first game, giving up just four hits while talking six and striking out seven.
Greenville scored both of its runs in the first game in the first when Trevor Richards scored on an error and Cody Mills drove Stone home with a single.
Just like in the first game, the Lakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third inning of Game 2 on Matt DiAngello’s two-run double, but the Bucks rallied to take the lead and secure the win.
