CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy men’s soccer picked up a 6-0 North Atlantic Conference victory over Green Mountain College on Saturday afternoon on Ritchie Field.

Prior to the game, the Mariners honored the team’s two seniors Henry Hersey and Tristan Richards

Dalton Moore gave the Mariners the lead in the 28th minute with this sixth goal of the season. Ike Doiron doubled the Mariners’ lead just a minute later on an assist from Evan Backus.

Moore added his second goal of the game in the 32nd minute sending the Mariners into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

Abraham Vongkhamdy added his first career goal in the 51st minute, Andrew King added his second goal of the season in the 57th minute on a assist from Richards and Gerald Aquino added his second goal of the season on an assist from Zach Pitcairn in the 64th minute to give the Mariners the 6-0 victory.

Kyle Townsend and Andrew Coleman combined for the shutout in net for the Mariners with three saves, while Sawyer Levy tallied 10 stops in net for the Eagles, in the setback.

The Mariners improve to 6-9-1 overall and 5-3 in the conference, while the Eagles fall to 0-14 on the season and 0-8 in the NAC.
