Gould Academy Boys Basketball 37 at Forest Hills 88


AUGUSTA — Evan Worster poured in a record-setting 51 points to power second-seeded Forest Hills by seventh-seeded Gould Academy of Bethel, 88-78 in a Western Maine Class D boys basketball quarterfinal Saturday at the Augusta Civic Center.
Worster set the record for most points scored in a Class D game, passing the mark of 46 set by Washburn’s Matt Baker in 1991. Van Buren’s Alan Madore holds the record for most points scored in all classes, A through D, with 54, set in 1986.
Matthew Turner posted 13 points for 16-3 Forest Hills of Jackman. Derick Ouellette contributed 11 points.
Gould Academy (10-8) was led by Zacharia Mohamed with 12 points.
