At Bucksport, the top-seeded Golden Bucks scored two touchdowns in the final 2:30 of the first half en route to the victory over the No. 5 Ponies.
The win set up an EM Class C final next Saturday in Bucksport against the second-ranked Orono Red Riots. Bucksport beat Orono in the regular season 35-12 at Bucksport.
Chris Shorey scored on a six-yard five seconds into the second quarter to give the Ponies a 6-0 lead before the Golden Bucks responded when quarterback Mike Cummings ripped off a 24-yard TD run with 2:30 left in the half.
After the Bucks held the Ponies to a three-and-out, they took over on the Foxcroft 45, were aided by a pass interference penalty and drove down to the 2 where Shawn Smith ran in their second TD.
After a scoreless third quarter, Foxcroft cut the Bucks’ lead to 13-12 when Zac Smith scored on an 8-yard run.
Cummings added some cushion to the Bucksport lead when he scored on a 50-yard run with 2:30 left in the game.
Foxcroft’s Ryan Rebar caught a 72-yard pass to move the ball down to the Bucksport 4 on the next series, but Bucksport forced a fumble two plays later to secure its victory.
Cummings paced the 10-0 Bucks with 122 rushing yards on 12 carries and completed 6 of 12 passes for 63 yards. Jake Stewart was his primary target as he caught four passes for 36 yards. Shawn Smith contributed 97 rushing yards on 20 carries.
Rebar caught two passes for 91 yards for 6-4 Foxcroft.
