Foxcroft Academy 2 at Nokomis 1

At Newport, Emily Higgins’ goal with 7:07 left in the game gave No. 3 Foxcroft the victory over No. 2 Nokomis in an Eastern Maine Class B semifinal.

Monica Miles took the initial shot on the winning goal, Fern Morrison stopped it and gave it to Higgins for a reverse-sweep goal.

Foxcroft’s Emily Higgins scored the game’s first goal when she deflected a shot off the goalie with 25:18 left.

Nokomis’ Abbi Donaldson equalized about 12 minutes later when she beat the goalie on a 1-on-1 breakaway.

Foxcroft’s Avery Carroll made 3 saves on 10 shots while Nokomis’ Kendra Underhill had none on three shots.

Nokomis had a 20-5 advantage on penalty corners. Foxcroft is now 14-2 and Nokomis finished at 11-3-1.
