At Linscott Field in Lee, the No. 6 Pandas defeated No. 11 Fort Kent with outstanding pitching and timely hitting.
Starting pitcher Corey Worster, a sophomore lefty , had a no-hitter for 5 2/3 innings before giving up the Warriors first hit. That hit was a line-drive single to right by Cody Plourde.
Dustin Sawtelle pitched a scoreless seventh and earned a save.
Lee extended a 2-1 lead in the fourth with three of their five hits. Devin Peters led off with a single and scored on Jeff Tomah’s RBI double. Tomah then scored when Kyler Peters delivered a two-out triple.
Worster recorded seven strikeouts and walked three. Fort Kent’s Tom Morin scored their run on a throwing error and Charlie Nadeau struck out five in two innings of scoreless relief. Fort Kent ends at 5-12, while Lee improves to 10-7.
