At Caribou, Fort Kent’s speedy Niko Naranja broke through the Vikings defense and slotted a goal past Caribou’s Noah Hixon with 3:50 remaining in the second overtime period to lift the Warriors to victory, avenging their only loss of the season to Caribou.
In the first half, Naranja got Fort Kent on the board with an unassisted goal at the 23-minute mark. Austin Plourde scored on a 30-yard strike with 11 minutes remaining in the half to stake the Warriors to a 2-0 halftime lead.
Caribou had many chances and finally broke through when Tom Pinette scored off an Alex Ezzy assist with just 9:39 remaining in the game. The Vikings then tied the game at two with 4:50 to go when Ezzy scored off a throw-in from Parker Deprey.
Hixon made 10 saves on 16 shots for Caribou (6-8), while Reece Pelletier made 13 saves on 20 shots for Fort Kent (11-1-2).
