At Dyer Brook, Jon Theriault took advantage on two of Fort Fairfield’s rare chances and scored two goals to lead the No. 12 Tigers to the upset of No. 5 Southern Aroostook in an Eastern Maine Class D prelim.

Both of Theriault’s goals were headers off crosses from Ryan Player. The first one came on a corner kick with 15:13 left in the first half. The second was 9:25 into the second half as the  Tigers improved to 5-7-3.

Cody Lassonde scored the Warriors only goal with 27:13 left in the second half.

Dalton Cassidy preserved the victory with a handful of key saves late in the second half and ended with 14 saves on 18 shots for the Tigers.

Austin White made 1 save on 4 shots for the Warriors, who finish at 11-4.
