WATERVILLE, Maine — Colby College’s Paige Russell had a game-high 22 points and the Mules had no turnovers in the opening half on the way to a 91-38 non-conference win over Fisher College on Friday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

The Mules are 5-3 overall heading into Saturday’s 1 p.m. road game at St. Joseph’s College. Fisher dropped to 3-4 overall and will play at Rivier on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Russell, a first-year guard, shot 8-for-11 from the field, 6-for-9 from 3-point range, added seven rebounds, and four assists. She had 19 points in the second half to help the Mules pull away for good.

Colby had 17 assists on the 17 made field goals in the opening half. The Mules also did not commit a turnover and forced 12 Falcons turnovers. Colby had 33 assists on 35 made field goals and just six turnovers in the game. The Mules were one assist away from tying the team’s all-time record for assists in a game set by the 2009-10 team against Thomas College.

Haley Driscoll was 6-for-8 from the field for 12 points and dished three assists, while Emily Davis had 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting, seven boards, and three assists. Ainsley Burns finished with 11 points, MK Caverly had eight assists, Katie McCrum contributed five assists, and Jackie Albanese scored eight points.

Aliyanah McIntosh had 10 points, nine rebounds, and two assists for the Falcons. Skylar Robinson made three 3-point shots on the way to 13 points and Madison Carroll had eight points and three assists.

After Colby took a 20-10 lead after the first quarter, Fisher’s Madison Carroll nailed a 3-point shot just eight seconds into the second quarter to cut the margin to seven points. The Mules used a 7-0 run to go up 27-13 and went on to lead 43-23 at intermission.

Colby used a 13-2 run in the opening 4:23 of the third quarter to go up 56-25.
