Ellsworth Baseball 1 at Old Town 2

At Mahaney Diamond in Bangor, Old Town pushed across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally and defeat the Ellsworth Eagles on Friday.

Gabe Melmed picked up the win for Old Town, scattering five hits in seven innings, surrendering one unearned run, striking out five and walking one. The Coyotes scored on an RBI fielders choice by David Wilcox and an error that ensued on the play to score Melmed with the winning run.

Kyle Haslam tossed a two-hitter for the Eagles with 10 strikeouts and one walk. Ellsworth’s lone run came with two outs in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Dustin Smelley.
