At Foxcroft Academy, Kaleb Smith completed both passes for 57 yards and two touchdowns and Alex Stevens ran for 20 yards and touchdowns on both of his carries as Foxcroft Academy beat Ellsworth/Sumner, which was making its return to varsity football for the first time in more than 50 years.
Hunter Law completed three of four passes for 64 yards and a touchdown and he also ran for a TD.
Law opened the scoring with a 14-yard TD run before Stevens scored on a 15-yard run, Don Boyer ran four yards for a TD and Stevens closed out the first quarter with a four-yard run to make it 28-0.
Foxcroft scored 28 more points in the second period on Law’s 30-yard pass to Ryan Rebar, Smith’s 10-yard and 47-yard strikes to Jesse Provost and John Adkins’ six-yard run.
Wesley Stinson returned the second-half kickoff 75 yards for a Foxcroft touchdown before Deonta Lindcott scampered 71 yards for Ellsworth’s touchdown.
Liam Riehl capped the scoring with a 38-yard interception return.
