Ellsworth Softball 8 at Caribou 5

At Caribou, with the score tied 3-3 going into the fifth inning, Ellsworth came up with five runs in the last three innings and held off a late charge from the Vikings (who brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh), to get the win in the first game of a doubleheader.

Sam Woods recorded a solo home run and a single, an RBI and scored twice for Ellsworth. Hailey Langley was 3-for-3 with three singles, and Katherine Jordan and Mariah Brown each had two singles.

Kelsie Espling was strong at the plate for Caribou with two singles and a double. Kristin Plante also had two singles.
