Deer Isle-Stonington Baseball 1 at Bangor Christian 2

At Bangor, Nos. 8 and 9 batters Dave Peters and Kyle Holmes stroked consecutive two-out, two-strike singles in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the fourth-seeded Patriots past the No. 5 Mariners.
Cody Collins allowed only four hits and struck out five while going the distance for Bangor Christian (16-2), which received three singles from Zac Palmeter.
Sam Grindle singled twice and scattered seven hits for 13-5 Deer Isle-Stonington. He singled, stole two bases and scored on Connor Morey’s RBI groundout in the first inning.

The Mariners advanced to Thursday’s game with an 11-1 prelim victory over Katahdin of Stacyville on Tuesday when Morey allowed only one hit and then aided his own cause with three singles and four RBIs.
