At Augusta, Morgan Buker hit a solo home run in the second inning and went on to score the winning run in the fourth inning to lift the No. 2 Indians by the No. 1 Rams in the East Class A final.
Skowhegan will next take on Western Maine champ Thornton Academy of Saco in the Class A state final at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.
Skowhegan (15-4) scored its first run in the first inning when Mikayla Toth and Taylor Johnson both doubled.
Cony (15-4) answered with a run in bottom of the inning when Alyssah Dennett raced home on a wild pitch.
Buker gave the Indians the lead in the second inning and she scored in the fourth on another double by Toth. Buker had singled and advanced on a Renee Wright sacrifice bunt.
The Rams added a run in the fifth on Olivia Deeves’ run-producing hit.
