HENNIKER, N.H. — Tay Muson had a goal and an assist and goaltender Savannah Shaw had her third shutout of the season for the Colby College women’s hockey team in a 2-0 win over New England College on Tuesday night.

The Mules improved to 5-7-4 overall, while NEC dropped to 2-15-1. Colby plays at Trinity College in a NESCAC game Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Game highlights
* Cassidy Holzer scored her second of the season at 2:12 of the first period for what turned out to be the game-winning goal. Munson and Izzy Tegtmeyer each picked up their third assist of the season.

* Munson scored her third of the year at 10:52 of the third period to give Colby an insurance goal. Brooke Gary had her second assist and Lily Santonelli had her first.

By the numbers
* Shaw made 17 saves in lowering her goals against average to 0.73 and raising her save percentage to .958.

* Jackie Clark also played well in goal for the Pilgrims by making 36 stops.

* Colby had a 38-17 advantage in shots.
