At Hermon High School, the visiting Vikings scored three goals in the first half and looked to be in control of the game, but the determined Hawks scored twice early in the second half to close the margin to 3-2 before the Vikings again took command on their way to the win.
For Caribou, Cody Herbert scored a goal in each half to go with two assists, while Matt Milliard added a goal and two assists setting up Kameron Manter on a beautiful through ball which Manter finished nicely, and skimming a header off a throw-in to Caribou’s Colby Holdsworth who slammed the ball past Hermon keeper Garrett Kipler.
Adam Collins and Michael Hunter also had assists for the Vikings who evened their record at 2-2.
For Hermon (1-2), Brevin Haskell had a tally at the 32:30 mark of the second half off a Matt Allen assist, followed by an Aaron Hawes goal off a scrum in front of the net which he drove past Caribou keeper Matt Manter with 29:36 remaining in the game.
Caribou’s Matt Manter and Ethan Plourde combined to make 7 saves on 9 shots while Hermon’s keepers combined to stop 7 of 19 shots.
