At Howland, after a sluggish first quarter for both teams, the Howlers erupted for 26 second-quarter points en route to the victory over Calais.

Elijah Wood’s 17 points led a balanced scoring attack that saw four players in double figures. Grant Kidon, Brad McKechnie and Jonathan Littlefield scored 15, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Penobscot Valley (14-5) shot 22 of 28 from the free-throw line.

The Blue Devils (7-12) were led by their interior players Matt Perkins (16 points) and John Socobasin (11).
