ORONO, Maine — The undefeated Bucksport High School softball team won the Eastern Maine Class B championship a year ago and took another step toward sewing up the top seed for the Eastern C playoffs on Wednesday night.
Junior righthander Cassidy Adams scattered six hits over six innings, Bailey Blair tripled twice and drove in three runs and Sadie Wight doubled twice and knocked in a pair of runs as Bucksport beat Orono 16-3 at the University of Maine’s Kessock Field.
The game was called after six innings due to the 12-run mercy rule.
