NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Bowdoin women’s soccer team scored a pair of first half goals at Connecticut College to collect a 2-0 NESCAC victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears (9-4-1, 4-4-1 NESCAC) handed the Camels just their second loss of the season, dropping the 14th ranked team in the nation to 11-2-1 (6-2-1 NESCAC).

Game Highlights

Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead 23:18 into the contest. Sophia Lemmer took a free kick from just beyond midfield that Julia Patterson flicked the ball up towards Morgen Gallagher. Gallagher turned her defender and shot from the edge of the box, burying the ball inside the far post.
The Polar Bears doubled their lead seven minutes later. This time Gallagher sparked the play as she drove the end line and slotted the ball back to Lizzie Sands. Sands finished with a one-timer in front of the net.
By the Numbers

The Camels held an 18-6 edge in shots and 6-0 corner kick advantage.
Rachel Stout made one save for the Polar Bears in the shutout.
Bryanna Montalvo allowed two goals with one save in the first half. Sarah Williams played the final 45 minutes but did not record a save.
